Welcome to the 2026 State TAAP Conference: “Pirates of Recovery: Charting New Waters!” We’re honored to have you join us once again at the stunning Hyatt Resort and Spa in the San Antonio Texas Hill Country, where our fleet has gathered and the journey begins.

 

As you arrive, imagine the creak of the ship beneath your feet, the salt on the breeze, and a horizon full of possibility.

 

Before you embark, listen closely—from high above in his crow’s nest … meet Captain Squawksalot. Loud, relentless, and surprisingly wise, he stands watch and reminds us that it is the journey, not the destination, that truly matters.

 

On the winds of change, Captain Squawksalot brings good news: we heard your voices carried across the waters—and we listened. We are excited to set a new course, with conference days now running Wednesday through Friday, September 9–11, 2026, giving you more time to explore, connect, and return to your own ships renewed.

 

Each of you comes aboard as a skilled navigator in the vital work of treating addiction—guides who help others find their way through both calm seas and crashing storms. In the days ahead, you may encounter rough waters, discover new horizons, and face moments that challenge and inspire you.

 

But no pirate sails alone, and no work we do stands without the strength of those beside us. So steady your compass, gather your crew, and keep your eyes on the horizon.
