The Texas Association of Addiction Professionals is excited to welcome you back to the vibrant Alamo City and the beautifully refurbished Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Conference Center. The hotel isn’t all that has changed, so get up and boogie on over to our version of Studio 54 – the TAAP Disco Inferno.
Last year we travelled back to the 1920s and the days of gangsters and prohibition. This year, we spun the disco ball and landed in the middle of an evolution of dance music that was as free spirited as the 1960s but with more hip and pizzazz.
We challenge you to pull out your platform shoes, sequin shirts, flair bottom pants and of course, the big hair, and take a ride on the Soul Train, the “hippest trip in America”, with some of your favorites such as Donna Summer, the Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band and more. Who knows, there might even be an appearance by the Village People!
We are thrilled to be your party guides this year for a conference that has become the largest addiction and mental health symposium in the southwest, and by far, revered as one of the best in the nation. This is YOUR conference so we analyzed every evaluation that you submitted last year and the changes you asked for have been addressed. From parking and AV concerns to workshop format and food and beverage options. We hope that you will recognize and be pleased.
Our conference committee is one of the hardest working group of volunteers that have danced their way into the planning and choreography of the workshops, keynote presentations and special events, and they guarantee to get you up on your feet.
For our loyal vendors, they deserve the best venue to showcase their products and services so we expanded the Exhibit Hall and ask that you make sure to patronize them Friday and Saturday.
And to properly celebrate our 49th annual conference, we want you to have the time of your life connecting with old friends and networking with new, take home new clinical and behavioral tools to use with your clients, and most of all, HAVE FUN. The TAAP Disco Inferno is not a spectator sport so as the song says, get ready for our “boogie wonderland!”
